LASH NAPS ARE THE BEST NAPS!
It’s enjoyable and very relaxing. You lie down and close your eyes for an hour and a half to two hours, while music plays in the background and we attach little feathery fluffy lashes to your natural lashes. It’s the most socially acceptable naptime a working adult could ask for!
Using a bonding adhesive (somewhat like surgical glue), eyelash extensions are individual lashes, made of silk, mink, or synthetic, that are attached to your existing lashes semi-permanently. If you've ever dreamt of waking up with full fluffy fluttery eyelashes, this is your answer Without that ring of leftover mascara dangling a foot under your eyes.. Lash adhesives are made from methyl -2-cyanoacrylate which is designed to bond a smooth surface (the eyelash extension) to a porous surface (the natural eyelash). It is designed to be used on the natural lashes.
Eyelash Extensions are definitely a luxury and a lot of upkeep in the beauty industry. They're a high-maintenance, time-intensive, and not exactly cheap habit. They make you feel more glamorous than you thought possible. Once you have them, it is hard to be without them.
Before application, you should talk to your specialist about how you'd like your eyelashes to look and the main concerns with your natural lashes—i.e. why you booked an appointment in the first place. Do you want length? Volume? Fullness? Is this for a special, once-in-a-lifetime event? Do you want to draw attention to the shape or color of your eyes? Once you've answered those questions, the specialist will help you choose the perfect set for your needs, and one that will enhance your eye shape.
You will be given a spoolie lash brush at the end of your appointment. Comb your lashes daily. Looking down, support underneath your lashes with your pointer finger. Then gently twirl the spoolie on the top side of your lashes (the opposite of how you’d apply mascara). When you get out of the shower, you will wait til your lashes are dry and then gently brush them all in the right direction.
DO NOT try to pull your lashes off if you decide you do not want them on. Call us and make a quick appointment to have them removed. If you try to remove them yourself, you’ll end up tearing out or breaking your natural lashes, and it’s not worth it. You can do permanent damage to your lash follicles if you pull off your lash extensions. If you don't want to keep them, you can have them removed or just keep them until they all cycle off.

AFTER CARE
Maintenance Instructions:~ No waterproof mascara~ No prescription or over-the-counter eye drops~ No oil based products around the eye area~ No water can come in contact with the eye area for 24 hours of the application~ No tinting or perming of eyelash extensions~ No continuous pulling or rubbing of the synthetic lashes
The eyelash cycle is approximately three to six weeks. Do not be alarmed if some of your lashes fall out quickly (they most likely were at the end of their cycle). There are many factors that may affect the life of the eyelash extensions such as water and moisture contact, oils, lotions, makeup removers, excessive sweating, weather conditions, and activities involving exposure to heat or high temperatures, salt water, beach air, chlorine pools, jacuzzies, watery eyes/allergies, etc... Most of your extensions will stay through a complete cycle if you avoid the prior factors and follow these guidelines:
~ Be sure to schedule your next fill-in appointment before you leave today! It is recommended that you get a fill-in every 2 to 3 weeks to keep your lashes looking lush, full and fluffy.
~ Your natural eyelashes should not get wet for a minimum of two hours HOWEVER, 24 to 48 hours would be ideal to allow the adhesive properly to bond to a dry eyelash (soggy eyelashes do not make for a good adhesion). A dry washcloth can be rolled up and placed over your brows when you shower to protect your extensions from becoming saturated.
~ Do not use regular or waterproof mascara. Most brands of mascara contain chemical properties and oils that will break down the adhesive. Removing mascara from your lashes can cause the extensions to fall off prematurely as well. If you want to further enhance your lash extensions, we can suggest or offer a specially formulated eyelash extension mascara that is ideal for coating your extensions. Ask your lash stylist for more information.
~ Take special care around the eye area when cleansing your face. Gently cleanse the eye area and do not scrub or rug your eyes. Avoid any type of oil-based product around the eyes. Again, the oils will break down the adhesive and cause the extensions to fall off. Resuming with normal activities is ok (i.e. - face washing). When possible, it is best to wait up to 12 hours.
~ Never use a clamp-style eyelash curler on your extensions. This can permanently damage not only the extensions, but your natural eyelashes as well. Eyelash combs/brushes are great for grooming your lashes every morning.
~ Adhesives are cured by moisture, however, by avoiding extreme variation of heat, humidity, and cold weather (i.e. – hot showers, saunas, zero-degree weather), your extensions can last longer. Normal activities like swimming, can resume after the appointment, however, note that chlorine and salt pools, sun, saltwater, and also ocean air will break down the glue quicker, lessening the life of the adhesion on your extensions.
~ DO NOT attempt to remove the extensions yourself. Never pull on them. Please contact us if you need your lashes removed for any reason. Pulling off your eyelashes or tugging on them can damage your natural lashes as well as the root and make them fall out prematurely. It only takes a few minutes for us to remove them using a specialized gel to dissolve the glue.
~ Contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
Enjoy your new lashes!
